Rodef Chesed Team

Community means being there for each other in times of need and joy.  Acts of chesed - such as organizing and providing meals, transportation, calls, and visits - forge connections in our congregation and beyond.

The Chesed Team is here to help mark the joyful moments in our lives, comfort the bereaved in meaningful ways, and provide support to all members of our community during times of need. Each situation is unique and personal; therefore, we operate under Rabbi Kobrin’s guidance and confidentiality.

Feeding people is not just a Jewish stereotype, it’s a mitzvah! Making meals fulfills the mitzvah of gemilut chasidim, acts of loving kindness. Even better, it does good twice: it provides physical sustenance to someone during trying times and also meets the spiritual needs of the person providing the food. Simply, it’s good for you to do good for others!

The Chesed Team organizes:

  • Family Support & Newborns
  • Coordinates mealtrains, friendly visitors, and other special requests for families
  • Delivers Rodef Shalom baby gifts!

Health & Healing

  • Reaches out during diagnosis/illness/surgery and identifies support
  • Coordinates mealtrains
  • Helps with transportation to medical appointments

Mourner’s Support

  • Coordinates meals as needed
  • Provides materials for shiva
  • Schedules minyanim during shiva
