Community Organizing with Devora Yellin, MEd

  • We will explore community organizing through a Jewish lens, enhancing our skills while diving into Jewish tradition; seasoned facilitators and new organizers welcome.

Beer: Keeping it Kosher with Austin Swafford, PhD

  • A class on brewing and drinking beer, even during Pesach. Tastings provided with each class.

Famous Poets Tackle Torah with Richard Sacks, PhD

  • Many great poets of the English-speaking world have wrestled -- almost midrash-like -- with Genesis' creation story. Using poems by Emily Dickinson, William Butler Yeats, and Derek Walcott, we will focus on closely reading one such poem each week.

Jewish Baking & It's History with Sara Hirsch, Baking Genius CLOSED

  • Dive into the world of Jewish baking with three classics: rugelach, black & white cookies, and hamantaschen; we will learn to make these Jewish favorites while exploring their history.

  • A lively discussion based on the book Hidden Freud: His Hassidic Roots by Joseph H. Berke.

David and Elijah with Rabbi Marc Gitler

  • A text based class delving into the stories of our most famous King.

Kosher Cooking with Pizazz with Lynn Shenassa

  • Each week will feature cuisine from a different country: Persian, Italian, and Indian.

Storytime with the Rabbis: A Survey of Aggadah with Rabbi Bernard Gerson

  • An overview of Rabbinic interpretation of the Tanakh, revealing the creative impulse of the Sages to reach beyond the simple meaning of the text.

"36 Arguments for the Existence of God" with Jeff Ward

  • A tour of classical proofs that G-d exists and an exploration of the question of whether that matters.

The History of Jews & Alcohol with Marcus Oginsky

  • Each lesson will include tasting opportunities.
